EVERYBODY HAS A STORY
-
I was born and raised a Roman Catholic. My family was mostly Sunday-only Catholics, though the Spirit of Christ was ever-present in the demonstrated selflessness of my mother and grandmother. I drifted away from the Church in my late 20s, after my husband and I separated. I was angry and slipped into a life of sin. I was searching for God all the while, looking for Him in created goods. I investigated other religions and even went down the New Age path. I guess you can say that I've been around the block many a time! My life during that time was filled with fear and uncertainlty, but I persisted in my sinfulness and refusal to surrender to that longing and tugging I had in my heart. See, I always "knew" where God was, in the Church, but I guess I had to eat of the fruit, so to speak. This road brought me much pain, but ultimately our Lord brought me back in full communion with His Church and I have peace. Yet, the zeal and searching remains yet it is all directed towards Him and His Church. Thanks be to God! Thanks be to God for this most wonderful tool of catechism and evangelisation. Thank you Father Barron!

I just want to say "thank you" to Fr. Barron for saying yes to God in his vocation and for the Catholicism series. I am a convert who has always been grateful for the gift of being Catholic but this was truly SOOOO inspiring and gave me so much to contemplate. I am praying that it will impact my life of prayer AND action. God bless ALL who worked on this project.

I recently made some changes in my life that have led to a period of personal and spiritual transition. During this time, I have felt great comfort in reconnecting with God but have not felt a connection to the Church. Having been raised Catholic, I fall in to the 75% of Americans that don't attend mass. I have a personal relationship with God but as an adult, I have not practiced my faith through the church. When I started watching this series, I immediately felt a strong sense of familiarity with something new. I can't put it in to words and I don't want to try, but I was captivated by the knowledge, passion, transparency and honesty of Fr. Barron. He offers a new voice to the Church that I find refreshing, inspiring and peaceful. I believe this is the connection that I have been praying for.

I have always considered myself Agnostic after having a horrible religious experience at age 16. I began working with an elderly Catholic couple July 2011. I have felt that something has been missing in my life, that I have had an emptiness in my spirit and soul. The gravitational pull for me to Catholicism has been tremendous. I have seen 3 parts of your series now and I feel a peace coming to me that I cannot explain. Father Barron has touched my soul, and at last, things are making sense. Thank_you so very much.

I was ready to leave the Catholic Church. I was baptized Catholic and made my first Communion but wasn't practicing. I started going to a Protestant Bible study and considered joining their church. Two people got me thinking more about Catholicism, first is my brother that pointed out that I should learn more about Catholicism before I leave it and the other was a friend from Ireland who just being from Ireland made me think about my ancestors and how they suffered to keep their Catholic beliefs. That opened the door and the more I learn the more I love the Catholic Church and I want to share it with everyone.

I was happily agnostic, not looking for God. A chemical accident made me hypersensitive to certain chemicals and to subtle, electromagnetic fields. I went into a Catholic shrine JUST to see a certain pretty painting (Maria: The Lady of All Nations) -- where I discovered to my shock that I could feel the field change beautifully at consecration during mass, and that the Real Presence was there similarly during Adoration too. I suspect that my experience is routine for certain (many?) physical sensitivity patients. Now of course I am Catholic! Thank you St. Mary and gorgeous Catholic art for bringing me there. Otherwise I wouldn't have known. Now, regarding your new CATHOLICISM series -- what a yummy, intriguing advertisement -- and yes, good strategy: art and culture do bring people in the door to then discover God.

I just completed viewing the 10-part series, and found it to be the best of its kind that I've ever seen. A "must see" for anyone who seeks the Truth of Christ. Thank you, Father Barron, for putting so much of your heart and soul into this project. I know that it will bear much good fruit!

My Catholic faith has helped me come to term with so much in my life!!! I am so grateful to my parents for instilling in each of their children the love of the faith founded by Jesus Christ!!! I think I would be dead without Jesus helping me through some of my emotional crises!!! The gift of faith is the best gift parents can give their children and, children should see that their parents persevere every day to live according to the teachings of Jesus!!!

I was on a long journey to the Catholic Church. It took over 40 years, but I made it. I've never known God in such an all encompassing way as I have since I became part of Christ's Church. I'm over joyed to finally be part of the body. Thank you for this series. I use it as a learning tool and as a point of refference in which to share my faith with my friends.

My wife brought me into the Catholic church in 1968. I was impressed with her faith and that of her family. I was blessed early on by participating in "extra" activities such as Christian Family Movement, Cursillo, and Marriage Encounter. But, it wasn't until I started listening to Word on Fire about 10 years ago that it started to "sink in". Now this Catholicism video series has allowed me to "get it" even more deeply. I still have a long way to go in my faith development. I have even a longer way to go to bring my actions into alignment with my faith. But, thank God I am not where I was 45 years ago, before I met my wife. That's my (spiritual) story and I am sticking to it, tee hee.

How our culture has been shaped by christian faith and how Jesus Christ is not "one more figure" among the wise men but the true God, I think this is "Catholicism" all about. These series invite us to a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and catholic Church. I really liked this wonderful visual catechism.

I became a Catholic because of Pope John Paul II. No one could have done what John Paul II did without God leading and working through such a man. I saw this man, this Church, standing up to and speaking to a world. At the end of the day, however, it comes down to each and every one of us and our journey to accept, understand, commit, and submit. The Church has been around for two millennia. What Father Baron has done systematically walk Catholic and non-Catholic alike through the origins, history, and teachings of The Church. He pulls no punches, makes no excuses, does not talk down or up to his audience. In essence he lovingly tells us, "Here it is folks, this is The Church. This is what the church teaches, this is the what and why we believe what we believe and this is why The Church must be a mirror to a sinful world and sinful people. Catholicism is nothing, absolutely nothing short of an enduring masterpiece. I know I will watch this series many times over and know that God will speak to me and teach me something new every time. God IS working through Father Barron and all of the wonderful people who made Catholicism. Catholicism comes at a time of great peril for The Church but validates Christ's promise that "the gates of Hell shall not prevail!" Thank You Father Barron and all!

Hi, I'm 53 years old and I am now a Catholic.
I've been a very active Christian all my life, but in 2010, I took the plunge and was received into the Catholic Church, and, I'll never regret it. I cry nearly every time I think about how our Lord has led me to the Catholic Church. The first time I attended a mass I cried like a baby. I kept apologizing to the ladies I went with saying, as they were trying to find a tissue for me, 'I didn't know this was going to happen.'... My life as a Christian will never be the same and I would ask for death rather than to be separated from our Lord in the Eucharist at Mass. There is no power on earth, under the sun that the Body and Blood of our Lord, as brought to us by His Priests, in Apostolic succession from Peter. None...and I have done it all, including everything from the Evangelic Pentacostal realms.
Oh, Thank You Jesus for what you have given to the Catholic Church, and the rest of the World, who receives it!

I am a cradle Catholic, married 38 years in December. My husband, not catholic,i s now going through RCIA. My prayers have been finally answered.
We attend "The Pope of the People". A gentleman and a convert, as well, that had written the play told us of "The Catholicism Project". Came home got on line and ordered it. Then went to our local Catholic store and bought the book. Just getting started in the program ourselves, but love it so much it is my goal to bring it to our parish.
I have always been searching for new things to broaden my faith, this is goiong to be the most powerful one I can so far.
prayer is the greatest power of all, it has taken this many years for this request to be answered, but it has been so worth the wait, thanks to "The Catholicism Project," Thank you.

I converted to the Catholic faith 2 years ago. It involved a priest, a sister and the rosary, and Mother Teresa. In 6th grade, I heard some Catholics praying the rosary at a funeral and it struck me not knowing that would be the first seed to my conversion. I ended up at a Catholic high school but shortly after my faith began to go down hill, I had grown up presbyterian. As a freshmen, I had a priest for religion and he prayed that I would become Catholic. Three years later by the grace of God through a Dominican sister, I found the truth and his mercy. She was my religion teacher. I will never regret becoming Catholic. It is who I am and no one can take that away from me.
